Luca Frei lives and works in Malmö. His work includes drawings, collages, paintings, installations, performances, videos and photography. His projects are often developed in response to a specific context in form of architectural interventions, narrative environments or exhibition display structures, that invite for public participation and dialogue. Consistent thematic preoccupations encompass the measurement of time, the relationship between the body and architecture, as well as the juxtaposition of private and public space. Luca Frei is Associate Professor of Basic Studies at the Schools of Visual Arts, The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen, Denmark.
What fosters art?
Who is supporting you?
Friends and colleagues, through exchange of ideas and collaborations.
Does financial support expand creativity?
Financial support can encourage creative work and facilitate production.
Must art be sellable?
Should art belong to the private or public?
The status of art is blurred and so is the distinction between private and public. We might need new models or visions to redefine these positions, which are never fixed.
