Matthias Gabi, Galleria Federico Vavassori, Milan, 2017, Photo: Alessandro Zambianchi

Matthias Gabi (*1981) sees himself in a world of images. His work is concerned with everyday images – their production, distribution and reception as well as their transition from analogue to digital. Exploring the interface between text and image and various forms of representations as well as the search for archetypes and the radical artistic choice of very few singular images are at the center of his work as an artist. Gabi received a diploma with distinction at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and a Master in Fine Arts at the ECAL. He was part of various exhibitions and held numerous lecture performances around Europe.
